Support higher resolution previews (above 72 DPI in pdfs) and zooming in previews.

It would be advantageous to us for higher resolution previews to be generated within the DAM and to enable zooming in on those previews. This would specifically allow users to read text within images and especially within PDF previews without needing to download the asset. Allowing all users to download certain assets is a risk for us as they are essentially DRM free copies of digital products that we sell meaning a high risk of piracy. In system watermarking of PDF master files is also not currently supported.

Other benefits are that it is faster for users to access certain information (for instance within a book), and that it would lower network load.

UX File Types

Since DAM v126 the PDF previews are now generated at twice their previous size (if Keep Document Dimensions has been configured on the file type), which improves readability in the application.

As Petra mentioned, the zoom functionality will be tracked in another Voice request linked below.

We'll try increasing the PDF default resolution ASAP. For this reason i'm putting this on Committed.
The zooming is on the roadmap, we're tracking this through the following voice request:  https://voice.aprimo.com/communities/42/topics/1312-ability-to-deep-zoom-in-on-images
