Configuring Project Anchor Date

Tal Burkhart 1 year ago in Productivity Management updated by Eric Teitsma 11 months ago 1

Currently, when setting up an activity, the Project Anchor Date is set when the user selects an Activity Begin Date and the Project Anchor Date equals the Activity Begin Date that’s selected by the user. I would like to see one of the following 2 enhancements made:

1) The Project Anchor Date should be configurable so it does not default to the Activity Begin Date. It should stay null and the user should be required to enter a value into the Project Anchor Date.
2) The Project Anchor Date should be configurable so it does not default to the Activity Begin Date. It should be configurable so you can have it automatically populate to equal the Activity End Date when the Activity End Date is entered into the system.

Ideally, like to see number 2 implemented, but would settle for number 1 as a shorter term solution if it can get added to a near term release.

If moved forward with this, we cannot just change the existing behavior due to impacting current customers so I think the approach would have to be a system parameter where the customer can chose whether the Anchor Date defaults to "Nothing, Begin Date or End Date".

Would like to hear other customers feedback on the value of this and their use of Project Anchor Date.  There was another request to also allow the Project Anchor Date field to be included in Terminology so a customer could rename it.
