TALKBACK is currently undergoing major changes to widen scope from DAM to the whole APRIMO SAAS platform. The area will be rebranded and new forums will start to emerge. Wider communication will be done towards all APRIMO customers in the near future.
On all our projects we first develop on our development environments, move into test, then into UAT and finally into production - so a proper DTAP deployment :)
One of the areas we always struggle with is the moving of data (e.g organisations, user groups, settings, classifications, fields) between environments. Generally we put together an Excel spreadsheet in which we update any changes when in development and run against the environments as we push through. However, this isn't the "neatest" of solutions.
Just like with the export / import of translations, it would be great if the same could be completed against other elements in the solution. That way we have an easy way of moving between environments, hopefully reducing the time it takes to achieve this and also providing better service to our clients.
Users sometimes submit jobs that shouldn't have been submitted. Or due to a large job queue, some jobs are no longer relevant and can be canceled.
As an admin it would be great if I could cancel/remove a non running job. Or it might be great that regular users could remove their own (non running) jobs.
Although this feature might also answer the question: https://support.adamsoftware.net/entries/80116759-Adam-Core-CommandLine-cancel-maintenance-job-by-job-id
It would be nice if the Collections could be shared to a whole group instead the user having to select a set of users.
Please add possibility to cancel maintenance job by job id to Adam.Core.CommandLine .
The current list of permissions set for accessing Records consists of:
NoAccess, Read, Modify, Delete, FullControl, DenyFullControl, DenyDelete, DenyModify, DenyRead
Please extend this to:
NoAccess, Read, Download, Modify, Delete, FullControl, DenyFullControl, DenyDelete, DenyModify, DenyDownload, DenyRead
The permission to download will enable the download buttons and allows the files to be used via CS Sync.
It would be good to have better support for Microsoft Office documents. For example, building a Media Engine based on Aspose (http://www.aspose.com/) would allow ADAM to create a preview of every slide (PPTX), page (DOCX) or worksheet (XSLX). It would also allow to extract all contents from the file.
Since 5.3 we no longer can configure spaces on the user group level, only on system level. Spaces are hidden when no assets can be found based on the users permission.
We need to be able to configure spaces on user group level as we want to present different sets of spaces to different user groups, independent of the fact that a user could find assets in a space or not. Hiding spaces when there is nothing to show would give support questions "where did my spaces go". Better would be to show the number of records in the space on the Spaces landing page.
Dear ADAM team,
Many of our clients request the specific custom order of panels for asset read/edit view. For example, some clients want to set the first "select classification" panel, others - upload panel. Configuration for all panels on these pages will be very useful.
Some areas of the UI don't have the standard selection of choosing classifications, see the screenshot, the client I have been working with recently raised this ad I said I would submit a feature request, I have to say I do agree with them, from a business user point of view the UI needs to remain the same.
Currently the PreviewAdder media engine is using the filename and crc to find the file to link to the indd file on cataloging. However, if in ADAM multiple records exist with exactly the same file (name + crc), the cataloging action will fail because the query returns more then one result.
Secondly, when you have two files with the same name in the folder, Drive will show them as "name.jpg" and "name_1.jpg". When the user drags "name_1.jpg" on the canvas, the cataloging action fails because "name_1.jpg" doesn't exist in the database.
Both situations occur when saving the indd file back to ADAM via Drive.
Please put the fileversion id in the previewadder XMP information and use this guid to link the AllItems. If the FileVersionId is not in the XMP, default to the old query using the name and crc.
